I am very sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. My heartfelt condolences go to Peggy, Luke, Monica, and the rest of the family. One of my best memories of Wayne was a conversation we had in the hospital in Lloydminster, where Wayne was in the later stages of recovery from his car accident. We had just lost our infant son Nicholas, and were beginning what would be a long and painful grieving process. Wayne’s words were kind and comforting, but also very matter-of-fact, as was Wayne’s way. I didn’t realize it then, but I was able to draw strength from that conversation that I would need very much in the weeks to come. Wayne always showed courage and acceptance of his post-accident “new normal” physical limitations, and will forever have my utmost respect. I know I’n not the only one who will miss his many stories, as well as those two-minute sidewalk conversations that usually lasted at least a half-hour. Rest in peace, Wayne. God bless.
