Obituary of Ilston Plant

Ilston Bolton Plant passed away at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre in Lloydminster, Alberta on February 26, 2019 at the age of 91.

He is remembered by many for his service on Lloydminster city council, beginning as a councillor in 1992 and later as Mayor until he retired from public life in late 2000.

Over the years he was involved in several local businesses, enjoyed serving on many boards and committees both locally and beyond and later in his career worked as Facilities Administrator for the Lloydminster Public School Division.

He is survived by his wife Doreen and children Daryl, Adrian, Greg (Cindi), Nadine (Dale) and Vaughn (Trudy) as well as five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Kathleen, brother Jack and sister Dorothy.

The family is planning a private memorial and ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dr. Cooke Resident Comfort Fund and the Lloydminster and District SPCA.
