We recall the occassion of a visit from Gene along with his friend Al Alm while residing in the City of Edmonton. The inspiration of the visit followed a brief engagement sometime earlier when Ron was assisting Gene with a work overload in his Sign Shop. We were invited to move to Lloydminster with our two little girls, Lisa and Coli to assume the operations of Signs by Gene in the new year of 1970. Following 40 years later we moved to Kelowna, BC. We owe our gratitude to the insite Gene extended along with the open arms of the many citizens in making us welcome and part of the wonderful city of Lloydminster for so many years!

To Angie and family. Please accept Christine and my most heartfelt condolences on the passing of Gene. I first met Gene in November of 1947 and even though our paths sometimes wouldn't cross for years, I always looked forward to a talk and a cup of coffee. I have many good memories of the time we had together. Memories that will not be forgotten. We will keep you in our hearts. Bob

before Genes children were old enough to play competitive sports or other activities Gene willingly donated many hours of his time to minor hockey to help youth in Lloydminster, like myself, grow to be good citizens of our home town and ambassadors for good sportsmanship. I was fortunate to attend a Junior A hockey camp thanks to Gene. He likely paid travel costs and hotel rooms and meals for 5 of us out of his own pocket. A great man. A man his family can be proud of
