Obituary of Sarah Eaket

Please share a memory of Sarah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with sadness that the family announces the death of Belle Eaket on Sunday March 25, 2007 at the age of 93 years at the Riverside Health Complex in Turtleford. Belle was born at Boyne Lake, Alberta in 1914, the second of eight children to Ed and Sarah McConnell. She moved with her family to the Bolney district of Saskatchewan in 1919 when she was 5 years old and later to the South Branch district where she met and married Harvey Eaket. Belle and Harvey lived a long and loving life together. Belle is survived by her sons Calvin (Frances) Eaket of Livelong and grandchildren Brenda and Dallas; Glenn (Paulette) Eaket of Vermilion AB and grandchildren Darwin, Connie, and Rodney; and Ron (Judy) Eaket of Prince Albert and grandchildren Craig and Chris; brothers Bill McConnell (Joyce) of Glaslyn and Roland McConnell (Joyce) of Boyle, AB; brother in law Roy Eaket (Ramona) of Livelong, sisters-in-law Lois McConnell and Edith McConnell, brother-in-law Frank Statham of Lethbridge, AB; longtime friend Janet McConnell and numerous nieces and nephews. She also has seven great grandchildren whose pictures adorned the walls of her room at the Turtleford Health Centre. Greeting Belle in Heaven are her parents Ed and Sarah McConnell, her loving husband Harvey Eaket; brothers George, Ed, Bert and Howard McConnell; sister Ellen and a special infant granddaughter. Belle spent her entire adult life in the South Branch district north east of Livelong where she and Harvey farmed, and then later in town where they retired in 1972. Belle was a loving, caring and generous lady devoted to her children and their families. She was always welcoming, comforting and forgiving to all. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, cooking, cake decorating, tending her many house plants, bowling and quilting with the Livelong Lakesiders. Visiting and especially family gatherings were special times for Belle. She will be sadly missed by all. A celebration of Belle’s life was held on Friday March 30, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Livelong Community Hall followed by interment at the Livelong Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to McCaw Funeral Service of Lloydminster. In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be sent to the Riverside Health Care Complex Resident Fund, the Turtle Valley Lodge or to a Charity of the Donor’s choice. CARD OF THANKS The children of Belle Eaket express deep thanks and appreciation to our relatives, friends and neighbors for the kindness and courtesies shown to us during this sad time.
