Obituary of Robert Hill

Robert Roland Hill of Turtleford SK passed away suddenly on October 7, 2011 in the Turtleford district. Robert leaves to mourn his passing his daughter Sara Jane (Tim Millard) and his son Bruce James, and Sara and Bruce’s mother Jane Ryburn. Also his brother Fred (Brenda) Hill of Turtleford, his sister Marie (Brian) Guest of Lloydminster and sister Iris (Kevin) Yuill of Portage la Prairie. His nieces and nephews Trevor (Amy) Hill, Jody (Todd) Niemi, Leanne Binetruy (Gary Brooks), Teresa Binetruy (Norm Kohle), Mark (Laurie) Binetruy, Crystal Tully, Blair (Sarah) Callbeck. His great nieces and nephew Kayla, Chanelle, Keita, Piper, Nicole, Jessica, Ava, Haley, Danielle and Gavin will not have the privilege of getting to know Robert. Robert was born on August 25, 1956 at Turtleford, the youngest son of Jim and Dorothy Hill; raised on the family farm in the Cleeves district. Robert attended elementary school in Cleeves and Spruce Lake and graduated from St. Walburg High School. He immediately started working on the farm eventually Fred and Robert took over the farm when Dad retired from the day-to-day work. After some time Robert went on to farm on his own and rented additional land. Although the stresses of the weather, commodity prices and input costs disgruntled him farming was indeed his passion and he loved that way of life. Sara and Bruce came first to Robert before all else and he was a truly devoted father. He loved to travel and go camping. It was on a trip to Hawaii, Fiji and New Zealand with his friend Jack that Robert met Jane. Robert continued to travel every year taking Sara and Bruce to sunny warm locations in the winter, camping in the summer, NHL games to watch his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs even hot air balloon rides. He already had picked up the travel books and was looking forward to going was away this winter. Robert was predeceased by his dad Jim Hill in 2005 and his mother Dorothy Hill in 2010.
