Obituary of Walter Kuffner

Walter Louis Kuffner passed away peacefully at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Center in Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Walter will be sadly missed by his loving wife Ruth; their children: Les (Linda) Kuffner, Phyllis Young, Al (Meg) Kuffner, Darcy (Deb) Kuffner, Aletha (Keith) Thompson, Venita (Ron) Shaw, Karen Dewar, Ed (Lorraine) Gilroyed, Tamahra (Greg) Owens and Alanna (T.J.) Wingenbach along with his nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, his sisters Mazardi Wiltermuth, Alma Verolson, Hilda (Jim) Bonnar, Frieda (Bob) Hodgson and one brother Louis Kuffner along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Active pallbearers were Walter’s grandchildren: Al Kuffner, Taylor Kuffner, Dallas Kuffner, A.J. Wingenbach, Jordan Gilroyed, Kimberley Shaw, Wally Fash and Vincent Young. Honorary pallbearers were all his loving grandchildren, my friend Ralph, The Hohne Family, Members of the Moose and the Ministikwan Bunch. A Legion honor guard was held. Card of Thanks The family of Walter Kuffner would like to thank Elmer Vanberg for delivering the eulogy, Carmelita Swan and Elaine Reardon for singing the hymns and Donna Weston for accompanying them on the organ. Thank you to all who sent flowers, delivered food to our homes and all the kind words during our time of sorrow. A special thanks to Pastor Anne Laird for her beautiful words and to the Women of the Moose (Moose Lodge) for the lunch and refreshments. Walter had many special people in his life. He will be truly missed by his family, friends and those special people (you know who you are). Thank you one and all.
