DORNSTAUDER ~ Henry (Hank). September 5, 1926 - September 3, 2007 Sportsman, Outdoorsman, Teacher. Hank Dornstauder died Labour Day after a brief battle with lung cancer. Hank was born September 5, 1926 in Vibank, Saskatchewan, the tenth child of Christof and Carolina Dornstauder. Predeceased by his parents, and siblings William, John, Tony, Alex, Frank, Nicolas, Joseph, Elizabeth, Edward, Eleanore, Alfred. Hank is survived by brothers Al (Beverley) and Frank (Nora-Anne), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Hank was an excellent athlete, excelling both in hockey and baseball. He came into his own with the Notre Dame Hounds in the 1950's and continued to develop his hockey skills at Mount Allison University. He played both sports throughout much of his teaching career, which started in Bienfait and ended in Maidstone. Hank was also an avid fisherman and spent many enjoyable summers at Big Island Lake with family, nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the medical professionals - especially those at the Maidstone hospital, for making his final days so comfortable. Also, a special thank you to the Maidstone Homecare Staff who enabled Hank to enjoy his own home for so many more years. Funeral Mass will be held in Maidstone on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Maidstone Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Phong Tran officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Vibank, Saskatchewan at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Twin Rivers Foundation, Pine Island Lodge Hospital Building Project, Maidstone, Saskatchewan, S0G 1M0
