Fischer: Mrs. Phyllis Katherine of Lloydminster, Alberta passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 31, 2007. She was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan on August 19, 1922 to Wendlin and Margaret Stolz. She was one of thirteen children. She married Frank Fischer in Broadacres, Saskatchewan on November 23, 1943. She and Frank lived in various places before they settled in Lloydminster in 1962. They raised five children and have enjoyed 63 years of marriage. She lived for her family and enjoyed preparing her delicious meals for them. In her younger days she worked outside the home at Pioneer Lodge and Capri Motor Inn as head housekeeper until she retired in 1982. Upon retiring they travelled to Hawaii, Germany and wherever their children lived. She will be sadly missed by her family: husband Frank; sister Margaret Getz of Kindersley, SK; son Robert, daughter Helen (Irvin) Kloster of Luseland, SK, son Dale (Joan) Fischer of Lloydminster, daughter Carol Heise of Lloydminster and daughter Jacqueline (Terry) Paziuk of Prince George, BC; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by both her parents, three brothers, eight sisters and son-in-law Ernie Heise. The funeral service for Phyllis was conducted from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Friday, November 16, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. Interment followed in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. Lunch was served following the service. The family requests that any donations be made to the Dr. Cooke Patient Comfort Fund. At this time the family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Dr. Cooke Central Unit for the exceptional care given to our mother and wife during her stay. A special thanks also to Dr. Chan for his special care. Thank you to everyone for their support and words of comfort during mom’s illness. God looked around His garden and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw her tired face. He put his arms around her and lifted her to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful For He alone takes the best. He knew that she was in pain He knew that she would never get well on this earth again. He saw the road was rough and the hills hard to climb So He closed her weary eyelids and whispered “Peace Be Thine.” It broke out hearts to lose her But she did not go along For part of us went with her The day God called you home.
