Auntie Maude, Betty, and all the Cayfords, Offering our condolences and sympathy, we remember Howie fondly, and especially his laugh (as others have said) and never a loss for words (and stories)! We were so sorry to hear of his illness and passing hed never been even sick before in his almost 75 years, had he? Not that hed let on, anyway. Great guy!

Our sincere sympathies and condolances go to the entire Cayford family. Especially Maude and Betty. I first met Howie about 65 years ago and considered him a friend ever since. I remember the cold rides to Marsden High School in the back of McIntyres 1/2 ton, sure there was a plywood cover, but it got pretty chilly sometimes! I remember Howie courting Betty her first year of teaching and his last year of high school, the Marsden Mohawks hockey team, the ball team, the curling, but mostly I remember Howie as a happy, hard working, kind and cheerful boy, youth, and adult. The world is a better place for having had Howie in it. Len and Sharon Pryor

Uncle Howie was very special to all of us and he will be greatly missed. We will never forget his laugh filled with a bountiful chuckle. Rylan said that he "will sure miss Uncle Howie at the farm cause he treated us really good even though he couldn't hear us very good." Landon asked if he "was mowing the lawn in heaven now." Uncle Howie was such a kind soul and I know his spirit will continue on with each of us whom had the privilege of knowing him. See you all on Tuesday to celebrate the wonderful man he was. xxoo

I'm very sadened to hear about Howie passing away. I only got to meet him and Bill one time at the family farm reunion a number of years ago. The one thing I remember most was Howies concern for the elderly people. He said we are doing this for them and he was so respectful of their needs. It says a lot about the character of the man. We will miss him dearly. Bill Cayford & Daughter Andrea Nemitz.

Carrie and the Cayford family It was with great sadness that I read of Howie's passing. I really enjoyed my time curling against Howie and the times at the bonspiels. He was a true competitor but also a true sportsman. I will also miss just stopping to chat with him, whether it be about curling, the patch or anything else. He always had time. Howie was an early driving force in the heavy oil field as he was recognized as Oilman of the Year. He will be missed. Our thoughts are with you.

Uncle Howie has always been in my life. I grew up with my cousins and frequented their home. I spent summers with them and still do whenever possible. I will miss his booming voice and cheerful greetings whenever we came around. In the past years I have come to know Uncle as a adult so now I love and respect him even more. Art and I will greatly miss him but know he is with all our other loved ones that have gone before and they are there to greet him with open arms. Have a Whoooy Howie for me. Love Michelle and Art.
