EULOGY ~ Written by Grand daughter Kelsie Fred is survived by his son, Ted (Brenda) Yadach and his daughter Anna (Glenn) Peterson. His Grandchildren, Kristen, Scott (Paula), Lauren, Cleo (Keith), Misty (Tim) and Kelsie. Along with his five Great Grandchildren, Avery, Evett, Hadley, Arwyn and Bronwyn. Fred Yadach is predeceased by his father Michael, his mother Anna, his six brothers, and his beloved wife Olga. Fred Yadach was born March 3, 1911 in Hermaniw, Poland. He was the fourth son born to Michael and Anna Yadach. While growing up in the old country, he faced many challenges such as the First World War and also losing his father at a young age. Fred thought it would be an adventure to discover something that no one else had. At the age of nineteen, he sold what land he had to one of his brothers and set out with his friend, San Sass, and travelled across the Atlantic to Canada. Fred and Sam arrived in Halifax on March 31, 1930, and walked and travelled by railway across Canada working various jobs along the way. In 1933, Fred and Sam each filed on a homestead by Fishing Lake. After being there for a few years Sam left to Elk Point and settled on a farm close to Heinsburg. With Sam leaving, Fred then also decided to leave and worked as a farm hand until 1939 when he got on with the CN Railroad as a section hand at various stations. In 1947, Fred met Olga Tislak from Derwent. The two were married on August 31, 1947 just a few short months after they first met. After getting married to Olga they made their home in Blackfoot, where Fred was able to get permanent status with the CNR. Fred and Olga lived in Blackfoot for fifty years, and through those fifty amazing years, they were blessed with son, Ted Michael born June 10, 1948 and daughter, Anna Marie born March 17, 1953. They also welcomed in daughter in law, Brenda Rankin and son in law Glenn Peterson. Who then gave them six wonderful grandchildren who became extremely important to Fred and Olga. Throughout their lives Fred and Olga shared the love of gardening, and farming among other things. Whatever the season or time of day one could always find Fred outside, whether it be checking his apples, cutting the grass, shovelling the snow or just puttering around the yard keeping himself busy. In 1984, Fred and Olga returned to the old country, the first time Fred had been back since he left. Fred appreciated Canada so much more after coming home, that he kissed the ground. Fred and Olga lived in Blackfoot until her death in September 1997. Fred then stayed in Blackfoot for two more years and then moved into the Pioneer Lodge in Lloydminster, where he resided until 2006. When he became ill he then moved into the Dr. Cooke in the spring of 2007, where he appreciated the care he received from the staff there. He lived there until his death, two days before his 98th birthday. The family was able to all gather for one last time to celebrate an early birthday for him. This is when he was able to meet his two newest additions to the family, and we could all see the excitement in his eyes and how proud he was. My grandfather was a very kind hearted man and had a very genuine smile. His family, friends and faith were the three most important things to him. As his grandchild I was proud to see him reach the age of 98 and to have him as my Grandfather. He will be missed greatly and he is finally with the love of his life. CARD OF THANKS The family of Fred Yadach would like to thank everyone who sent flowers, cards, food, made phone calls and visits. It meant a lot to know you all cared. We will always be grateful for the care that the Dr. Cooke Nursing Home gave dad. A special thank you to Father Dumec for being able to officiate the services. To the grandchildren, your Grandpa would have been proud to know that you carried him to his final resting place. Our appreciation to you Dale McCaw, for your professionalism and caring that helped us out in our difficult time. Donations in memory of Fred may be made to the Prairie North Health Region or donors choice. Love, Ted, Brenda & Families Glenn, Anna & Families
