Obituary of Julie Pahtayken
Julie Rose Pahtayken “princess” passed away with her family by her side on September 29, 2024 in Onion Lake, SK at the age of 61 years old. Julie was born to Flora Whitstone on April 22, 1963 in Paradise Hill, SK.
She met the love of her life, Sherman in 1979. They later married in 1985 and were blessed with 4 wonderful children. After being a T.A for so many years she decided to become a teacher, completing her B.Ed in 2013. She was able to work a few years before she got sick. Despite her illness she was still the matriarch of the family, often opening her home for all family gatherings. Her grandkids were her pride & joy but she had a special bond with the one she called her “berfriend”. She was a very caring & loving mother, sister, grandma, aunty and friend.
She was predeceased by her mom, Flora Whitstone (2007); uncle, Pierre Whitstone (2011); niece, Angel Birdstone (2023); nephews, Marcel Whitstone (2003), Drayton Whitstone (2004), Murray Whitstone (2018) and Anthony Whitstone (2021); her grandson, Jerome Whitstone (2007); and her nephew, Leighton Whitstone (1988).
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 39 years, Sherman; her baby and her “berfriend” Jalaney; children, Sharman, Shannah (Dwight), Jeremy (Juanita) and Jarrett; grandchildren, Sharlize, Jarryn “King”, Layla, Jeralee, Jalaney, Nick, Masson, Heavenly and Jarreya; siblings, Howard (Penny), Anne (Wayne), Mark (Noreen), Brenda, Tim (Christine), Chester (Deb), Jessica (Dean); and her aunty, Josephine Mountain.
The Wake for Julie will be conducted from Onion Lake Communiplex, Onion Lake, SK on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 11:00 am.
The Funeral Service for Julie will be conducted from Onion Lake Communiplex, Onion Lake, SK on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11:00 am.
The interment was held at the Wichekaskosiw Sakahikan Ayawepowin, Onion Lake, SK.
