I just found this photo (a friend sent it to me). That's me with a mustache, and it was my murder mystery birthday party circa 2015, which Joan attended. She was always such a great sport and so much fun. I can't remember who won but I do remember her being a really good sleuth. We miss you Joan.
Edit: I've been informed that Heather Jeffery won (the lady with the eye patch)

Joan will be missed at Winston Manor. We were neighbors for 10 years. She was my daughter's camp counsellor at Pleasant View Bible Camp many years ago. Joan was always so open & caring & you her family were blessed to have her for 56 years. She was a joy to behold. My Dad was Nelson Nutbrown from Marsden & he knew your family well. She is resting in the arms of Jesus & there is no better place to be. Sincerely, Debbie Nutbrown Sproull

Joan has been in my life since high school. She always brought smiles and love to every situation. She was an amazing friend and will be deeply missed by many. She spent time with my husband throughout his illness and gave him a friend that he also loved to spend time with. She and I had many coffee and supper dates along with so many deep conversations. We had our fair share of giggles and silliness. She never judged, she just loved. I’m sure she walked in into heaven confident, and with that amazing smile on her face!!
I’ve had pictures of her Geocaching with me and Hannah Jones. As well as a coffee date with me and Ann Raspier.

Joan- known as Jonzi to our circle was one of my cherished bible study gals. Jonzi n I use to share a tea when I came to town. We also shared the love for the Lord our God. We both enjoyed singing… when no one else was listening. lol. I loved going out to the farm with her.. taking banana bread out to your dad when he was alive. It was so peaceful out there. She will be sadly missed. I loved her and miss her already. See you on the other side Jonzi. RIP now.. no more pain. No more sorrow. Watch over us my old friend

October 3rd 2022... my mum and Joan at Adventureverse, where the three of us played a few games and had a great time. Unfortunately I can't find a photo of myself with Joan, but I treasure this one.

She was a beautiful person and a beautiful soul, with so much to give. She brought so much joy and life, and always had such wisdom and Biblical truth to share. She was a great listener, so caring, and always had good advice to give. She was quirky. I loved her "Joan Zone." She was very giving and generous and thoughtful. She was soft and gentle and funny. She was a dab hand at card games and I enjoyed playing many card and light board games with her, at both her house and mine. She was so thoughtful and sensitive. Honestly I could go on and on. I will miss her terribly in this life but it brings me joy to think of her dancing before the throne of God, in her new body and renewed mind, with no more of the earthly baggage this life burdened her with. She is free now, safe and secure with Jesus.
I knew her for 12 years and saw me through my toughest times. She truly and genuinely cared and was a wonderful friend and Sister in Christ.
Love you Joan, and see you again someday. My condolences to her family and friends.
