Obituary of Ruth Mitchell
Ruth Elaine Mitchell, born on July 22, 1930, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024 at Points West Living, Lloydminster, AB at the age of 94 years.
Ruth was a dedicated teacher who touched many lives throughout her career while remaining a student herself, taking University courses well into her 60's. Despite facing numerous health challenges, she remained steadfast and resilient. Ruth was known for her straightforward and honest nature. She could be blunt at times but her honesty and fairness earned her the respect of all who knew her. She treated everyone equally and with kindness.
Ruth is survived by: her daughters: Debbie (Neil) Wells of Lloydminster and their three children all residing in Edmonton, Brayden (Brooklynn), Brianna and Britt, Marilyn (Rick) Everson and their two daughters of Kelowna BC, Jordan and Sarah (Marco) Guercio and their daughters, Gia and Talia; sister in law, Janet Deines; step-sisters, Grace Wallace and Erma Schee; step-brother, Les Heintz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was predeceased by: her husband, Walter Mitchell; parents, Reinhold Deines and Anna Heintz; step-father, John Heintz; brothers, Vernon (Margaret) Deines and Arthur Deines; and half-brothers, Wayne (Beatrice) Heintz and Gary Heintz.
Ruth was one of a kind and we will miss her. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Points West Living, especially those in the Yellow Cottage who treated Ruth with kindness and love through her 5 years at the facility. It truly became home for her because of you. Thank you to Dr. Paul Naude for your compassionate care and for your deep understanding of who Ruth was. A visit to the doctor was always a delight.
As per Ruth's request, a private family service will be held at a later date.
