Lois was born to Einar & Margaret Forslund (nee Forest) in Maidstone, SK on August 8, 1938.
Mom took her schooling in a little country school just down the road from where she grew up. Grandpa & Grandma had a general, store, gas station & Post Office and they lived at the back of the store. This was a very busy place with neighbours coming and going. Mom loved helping her Dad whether it was in the store or outside. She always said that she wanted 5 little boys so they could help their daddy as she had no brothers. Well, she got 4 boys. She almost had 5 if she hadn't lost the little boy when she was 5.5 months pregnant between Siegfried & Michael, otherwise there would have been 12 of us. In 1957, mom moved down to Ponteix, SK and started working for Betty & Arnold Finell, there she met the love of her life, Johann Bossert who was working as a hired man for Eldon & Jean Finell. They were married March 7, 1958. Nine months later came their eldest daughter and pretty soon there were more. Mom had 11 children in less than 14 years. Mom enjoyed gardening and we had a huge garden & you never said you were bored cause mom would say there is books to read, puzzles to do, games & cards to play and if you don't want to do any of them, there's that 1500 hill of potato Patch that really needs weeding. We always knew that mom loved each one of us very much whether it was by a look or a touch on your arm.
Our mom was a very busy, hardworking, strong and caring lady. Besides being a farmer's wife, she also drove school bus in the 80's and worked at Kouri's Grocery Store. Mom loved all animals but especially kitties, even when she was growing up they had 2 white kitties that would play behind the music sheets when mom played the piano. We used to love when mom played the piano. One of mom's favorite songs to play and ours as well was "Life in the Finland Woods". Us kids would dance to it til mom told us to go dance in the kitchen, as the living room floor would be vibrating and mom had a hard time seeing the notes on the sheet. Mom also loved reading the Bible and loved Jehovah God very much. She had dedicated her life as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1973, & she looked forward to the day when the earth would once again be a beautiful Paradise & no more pain or suffering or death be any more. (Revelation 2 :3, 4). In March 2020 mom ended up in Turtleford Nursing Home where she could receive the extra care that she needed.
We want to thank McCaw Funeral Home for the arrangements made on mom's behalf. Thank you goes out to the nurses and staff of the Turtleford Nursing Home for the care that was given to mom. We want to thank family, friends and relatives for being with us during this difficult time. Your thoughts, prayers, words of sympathy and encouragement will be remembered. We look forward to the time when we will see mom again on a beautiful paradise earth where there will be no more pain or suffering anymore. We long for that day to come.
Donations in memory of Lois may be made to a charity of your choice.
