Obituary of Charles Chief
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Chief on June 9, 2024 at the age of 65 years.
Rodney Clayton Chief, also known as “Charles”, was born on January 8, 1959 to the late Norman and Alvina Chief. He was the 9th child of 17 siblings. Charles and Beatrice met in 1975, they married on December 4, 1985 and together they had 9 children.
Charles took pride in his family and was especially fond of his 24 chichims and 2 chapans, he loved them all unconditionally. From a young age, Charles was a very hard worker. He loved working with livestock, fencing, yardwork, and was a skilled mechanic. His favorite past times were hunting and fishing with friends and family.
Charles is survived by: his loving wife, Beatrice; children, Cory, Jimmey, Arnold, Daryl (Krissy), Dwayne (Raeanne), Rebecca (Trevor); grandchildren, River, Rodney, Cody, Cordell, Asia Corinna, Charles, Nicholas, Caleb, Akela, Drayden, Chanaya, Edmund, Liam, Keenan, Darral Jr., Adisson, Latoya, Jerome, Mathew, Kaizlee, Rinnoah, Trevor Jr. and Emma; great-grandchildren, Foster and Avey; siblings, Roy Naistus, Susan Chief, Clifford (Lyndsay) Chief, Viola Chief, Marilyn Chief, Arlene Chief, Eleanor Chief, Eileen Chief, Lyle (Anna) Chief and Karen (Quinton) Chief; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Charles is predeceased by: his parents, Norman and Alvina; children, Corinna, Carlyle and Donovan; and grandchild, Kenley.
The Wake for Charles will be conducted from Onion Lake Communiplex, Onion Lake, SK on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 12:00 pm.
The Funeral Service for Charles will be conducted from Onion Lake Communiplex, Onion Lake, SK on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
The interment will be held at Wichekaskosiw Sakahikan Ayawepowin Cemetery, Onion Lake, SK.
Donations in memory of Rodney may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
