Obituary of Willie Krutow

Please share a memory of Willie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the passing of William "Willie" Krutow on Tuesday, May 2, 2024.

Willie is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Bernice, his daughters, Gloria Jean (Leo) Seguin and Cindy Mann; his only granddaughter, Jessie (Mitch) McEachern and Mitch's son, Bradley.

Willie was predeceased by his parents, Pauline and Alex Krutow; six siblings, John (Cecile) Krutow, Ann (Rod) Palmquist, Nick (Nora) Krutow, Peter (Sue) Krutow, Jean (Arnie) Leiter and Olga Krutow; and we also remember Rick Goulet.

Willie was born December 25, 1931 in Brightsand area. He was five years old when his family moved to a homestead in Big Bush District. He started farming with his Dad at an early age and he continued on the farm until his retirement to Lloydminster, SK in 2018.

In the early years, a farmer had to become proficient in many areas. Willie became his own mechanic, carpenter and veterinarian. His family believes that he excelled greatly in all these areas.

Willie's favorite times were when his family could gather together. His favourite past-times were riding his quad around the farm, fishing at Muckingham Lake (when he remembered his fishing rod or gas for the boat), eating Bernice's delicious desserts, visiting his friends and playing checkers with anyone who would take him on.

Willie was a man of faith and a loving devoted husband, Dad and grandfather. He will be missed every single day.

A Memorial Service will be held at McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, AB on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM.

The Krutow Family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and all the staff in Palliative Care in Lloydminster Hospital, Pastor Tim Acey for doing the service and house calls, Darryl Amundrud for the peaceful music, Dennis Palmguest for his farm memories of Uncle Willie, Travis Howard for the special song,  for those who brought food to the house, gave flowers, cards and support through phone calls. Thanks to McCaw Funeral Service of all the arrangements. A special thanks to our Granddaughter, Jessie McEachern for writing and giving the eulogy, as well as designing the memorial card.
