Obituary of Frans Stokmans

Frans "Frank" Stokmans passed away at Points West Living, Lloydminster, Alberta on February 28, 2024 at the age of 96 years.

Frank leaves to mourn: his daughters; Lucy (Tim) Acey and Willi (Al) Zaback; son, John (Kelly) Stokmans; grandchildren: Samuel (Haidet), Philip, Rachel (Jeremiah), Sonya, Ryan (Hannah), Nathan (Karolyn), Josh (Jenna), Kristi (Iain), Serena;  great grandchildren: Owen, Freya, Ezio, Elijah, Isaac, Ruby, Riley, Josiah; and numerous relatives in Holland. 

Frank is predeceased by: his loving wife of 61 years, Willy Stokmans; son, Frank Jr; and great granddaughter, Ivalise Acey.

Frank grew up in Holland and married his wife Willy, July 1954. Their honeymoon was the boatride moving to Canada and settling in Malton, Ontario. During these years, four children were born prior to moving to Belleville, Ontario where they lived for many years. Frank was a Town Planner in Holland and also pursued this career in Ontario. Life changed in 1983 when they moved to Hay River, NWT to work at the Pentecostal Sub-Arctic Mission Hospital. They were soon asked to take over as Pastors in Fort Norman (Tulita) down the Mackenzie River where they spent 9 years pastoring that church. After that, they moved back to Belleville to retire before moving to Lloydminster in 2001.
