Though it's been some time (@45 years) since I last worked with Charlie in 3 PPCLI Transport Platoon Blue Beret Camp Cyprus (1975/76), we had recently reconnected on LinkedIn. I am so sorry for the families loss as I remember Charlie as a really good guy. Serious though witty.

I'm deeply saddened to hear of Chales passing, We kept in touch throughout the years.
His journey was no ordinary life journey, Hes done his exploring and now has folded up his teepee, headed home to the Spirit world.
Everything that I know about survival, came from Charles, He taught me survivor skills.
We lived off the grid for a number of years. We will meet again on that beautiful shore.
Rest in peace Soldier. ❤️❤️

Condolences to the family from all members of the Edmonton Branch of the PPCLI Association. Once a Patricia Always a Patricia. Worked with Charlie while at the Battle School. Ran into him a few years ago when was coming out of the Kit Shop at Edmonton Garrison. He had so much kit . He was going through treatment at that time but his spirits were high. We had good visits and laughs. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember him. May he Rest in Peace VP

Charles became a very Dear Friend in the years that we knew him. We visited him in hospital and at Pioneer House. He had a fantastic sense of humour, he never had a bad to say about anyone a trusted everyone. We had him over to our house for a barbecue on his 70th Birthday and Doug & Charles friend Wade had to carry him up the stairs in his wheelchair. We had lots on laugh and he told lots of stories of him sky jumping. Since he lived only a couple of block from us he would come to visit on his scooter. He was a wonderful man. I am glad we had the privilege of knowing him. May God be with the family & Friends. .
