Vernon’s life was one lived passionately driven by family and friends and farming. Vernon loved life and fun and was more than a bit mischievous at times but always balanced by a ‘it’s time to work’ mentality. This ensured his reputation as one of the best farmers in the area. He prided himself on being the first in the field each spring to meticulously plant and care for his grain/canola harvest. Dad also for many years raised a beef calf crop and fed out yearlings.
Hunting was another great passion for many years. Deer and moose filled the freezer and in later years he took great pride in teaching and sharing this passion with grandson Chris. Always too he had great pride in youngest grandson Andrew and his continued accomplishments in the oil industry and his interest in travelling.
Dad lived big and did all his life. A strong man, he was especially proud of his 60+ years of marriage to his loving wife Doreen and the fact he was able to keep and use his drivers license up to the last year of his life.
Vernon will be very much missed but his imparted wisdoms and shared experience will guide his family for many years to come. We love (and will miss) him very much.
Doreen, Barry and Donna
