To “Sheps” Family
We would like to send our sincere condolences to you all. We met “Shep” when we first came to Lloydminster 32 years ago at his store. For many years right up to when he closed he helped fit our kids & grandkids with hockey equipment & other sporting needs.Always a smile , a few jokes & maybe a little advice. A trip to see him was always enjoyable. Such a kind generous man we will always remember.

I am sending my deepest condolences to all of Brian's family... he was definitely an influential individual in our city. His business was such an important places in my boy's lives growing up playing hockey. We always went to Sheps for all our needs & supplies... having second hand equipment available was such a bonus. We were greeted with a smile & always a helping hand. He was always a 'Chatty Kathy' socializing with the boys & joking around. Brian will be missed by so many ... thankfully we each have some memories to cherish & keep his spirit alive.
God Bless all of you & may your memories give you peace. Our thoughts & prayers are with you all.

Anita, Brenda, Chrissy, and families. On behalf of all the coffee boys at SHEP’s there are no words to express our sorrow. SHEP’s was a special place to gather on the morning or afternoon for a coffee, cookies or countless birthday cakes. Many stories, tall tales, and white lies were shared. We are sure Brian is catching up with all of the guys that left ahead of him. He had such a welcoming presence and was always so kind to everyone. There will never be another place like he had. We all will miss him but never forget him and are blessed to be left with his memories. On behalf of all the coffee crew, our deepest condolences and thanks for sharing him with us.
The Coffee Boys.

I first met Brian in 1981 shortly after I started competitive trap shooting. He gave me a couple of shooting tips that certainly helped and I looked forward to seeing Shep at future shoots. Shep had a long trap shooting career and was certainly one of Saskatchewan's best trap shooters, and for Canada as well. He made the Remington 1100 famous as a trap shotgun. He will certainly be missed and my condolences to the Sheppard family. Ron Todd, Regina

To the family of Shep, I am so sorry for your loss. What a great guy he was and I have many fond memories of going into his store to get something or other and his words of advice and his sense of humor. He was always pleasant and welcoming to all who entered his store, and whether he saw you in the store or out of the store, it was all the same. May he rest in peace.

Anita, Brenda, Chrissy & Families,
We were very saddened to hear of Brian being in hospital, and now of his passing.
I (Deb) have a long history with the Brian & Donna Sheppard Family. I babysat both Brenda & Chrissy. What great girls you were, and beautiful women today - both inside and out! My Dad (Del Brandvold) worked along with Brian at Foster's Sports Centre on 49 Avenue, same store as Shep's Sports. I remember may social gatherings and fun times.
It was so great that Brian found Anita to help fill the void of him missing Donna. You both always seemed so happy together and always with a big smile. We had such a great time at your wedding, and able to connect with Brenda & Chrissy as adults was amazing. He was so very proud of his girls.
The Grace United Church Time & Talent Fundraiser Auction event will never be the same! Brian was the auctioneer for as many events as I can remember, and always added so much fun to the evening.
Treasure all of your memories. Hugs to you all. Take care.
Dwayne & I will be away, so unable to attend Brian's service in person, but we will have you all in our hearts.
Sending lots of love & hugs,
Deb & Dwayne Lundquist

Dear Anita, Brenda, Chrissy and all of Brian's family. We knew and loved Brian for about 50+ years through trapshooting. He was always the most fun guy in the place, always worked the hardest for his Club and probably knew more people than anyone can imagine through the Club, through hunting, golfing and of course through his store. He made friends wherever he went. We will all miss that huge grin, as we know you especially will. We hope all those good memories will carry you through this hard time. We know you will lovingly remember him always as will all of us.
We are sorry we won't be able to be there for the service,
Hugs from Ken and Karen Morton, Randy and Shannon.

My name is Rakel Helboe and I’m Brian’s younger cousin twice removed. I’m a photographer and in the spring of 2021, I came across Shep’s store while driving in Lloyd. I was lucky enough to have my big medium format film camera on me. I heard he had closed shop so I was delighted the sign was still there for me to shoot. Just as I was about to hit the shutter, Shep popped out. Click.
He welcomed me inside and told me stories of NHL players he used to outfit and gophers whose days were numbered once he enters retirement. The store had been gutted. Thankfully, a few hunting trophies, hockey sticks, and a wall of dusty rental skates from the 80s provided the spirit I needed for portraits. “Your camera is as old as Me” he said. We both laughed. “Ok, now hold that smile and DO NOT move,” I said,
“Your store is awesome, Shep, but your lighting is garbage.”
Click.

Shep was always available for all those husbands looking for coffee talk, about worldly events, local happenings, the gopher population, and endless amounts of knowledge for the gun enthusiasts. My husband Tyler was a frequent visitor and shopper.
Although I mention husbands, that’s not to say us wives, children etc. weren’t also welcomed. We most certainly enjoyed coffee with Shep as well.
All 4 of my Adult kids have spent time there and have guns in their collections from Shep.
Condolences to the family, Brian was one of the best. God bless
Love from Tyler and Natalie Hinks

I trap shot with Brian for years and always looked forward to his excellent pancake breakfasts at the Lloydminster gun clubs events! He always seemed to love doing it for all his fellow shooters and had a way of getting you going even better than the coffee did! He will be greatly missed by many.
