OBITUARY
STANIFORTH - Doreen Staniforth passed away peacefully at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the age of 84 years.
Doreen will be sadly missed by her six children: Barb and Glenn Thompson, Doug and Verna Staniforth, Howard and Alice Staniforth, Ken and Deb Staniforth, Brenda Staniforth and Jolayne Anderson, Shirley and Lonny Byford, sixteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. Also her two sisters: Jean Beaton, and Greta and Herb Thompson, along with all of their families.
Doreen was predeceased by her husband; J.G. Jack Staniforth. Together Doreen and Jack devoted their lives to their family and to the community of Lashburn. Sports and time with friends and neighbors were also very important to them. Doreens involvement in the community was immense. She always gave so freely of her time to all that was important to her. Although her family is large in number, Doreen always had time to provide each and every one of them with her love and support. With her unending kindness, her calming presence, and her uplifting smile, Doreen touched the hearts of many. We will all miss her dearly.
The celebration of life was conducted from the Lashburn Community Hall, Lashburn, Saskatchewan on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. with Carol Mohrbutter officiating. The Eulogy was delivered by her three daughters and Family Memories were shared by some of the grandchildren. Leader of song was the Lashburn Community Choir. The hymns sung were Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee and In The Garden accompanied on the organ by Norma Lynn Kenefick. The honorary pallbearers were All Those Who Shared In Her Life. Interment took place on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lashburn Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
CARD OF THANKS
The family of the late Doreen Staniforth would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Lloydminster hospital for their care and compassion.
Thank you to Carol Mohrbutter for officiating the funeral service, and also for her friendship and time spent with the family in the hospital. We thank the community choir and the United Church ladies for preparing and serving the funeral lunch.
We very much appreciate the work of Dave, Glen, and the rest of the staff at McCaws.
