Obituary of Leslie Martin

Leslie Carla Marie Martin, age 62 passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital on September 26, 2023.

Leslie was born on May 6 1961. Leslie was an only child but had numerous cousins to grow up with who all shared a special bond. Leslie was a straight A student in school despite being born very prematurely and told that her cognitive functions may be impaired. She graduated from Chilliwack Senior Secondary in 1979. In July 1982 she married her first husband David Fast whom she had her two children with. Leslie and David raised their children together until they separated in 1996. In 1997 she met her second husband Neil Eric Martin. In January of 1998 they moved with Leslie’s daughters to Kitscoty, AB and then they finally settled in Lloydminster, AB in 2002. In 2003 Leslie’s mom and dad came to live with Leslie and Neil in Lloydminster where Leslie could care for them as they aged. In January 2009 Leslie and Neil made it official with their marriage in Lloydminster. Leslie was a proud grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. Her first of 5 grandchildren were born in 2004 and the last born in 2017. She was active in her grandkids lives and loved all of them fiercely. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all of them.

Leslie was predeceased by her father Leslie Twist in 2010, Ex husband David Fast in 2013 and her mother Caroline Twist (nee Huth) in 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Gary) Robinson and their children Brodee, Nixin and Alyxandrea and daughter, Amber Fast and her children Brynn and Kayleigh. Her loving husband, Neil Martin as well as numerous cousins and close friends. Leslie was known for her caring nature. Many people speak of feeling welcomed in her presence. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
