Obituary of Calvin Christie
Calvin Charles Christie of Abbotsford, BC (formerly of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan) passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2023 at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 67 years old. He fought a long hard battle with throat cancer but due to complications passed away.
Calvin was preceded in death by: his father and mother, Jim and Margaret Christie; and his brother, Duane (Rusty) Christie.
Calvin is survived by: his loving wife, Sharon Haverson of Abbotsford; siblings, Larry (Lori) Christie of Kelowna, Dennis (Norma) Christie of Red Deer and Connie Ponto of Leduc. He is fondly remembered by: his nephews, Ryan (Lindsay) Christie, Jason Christie and Cameron Lariviere (Lynnita); nieces, Damara Wolter (Joey), Jolene (Micah) Roberts and Misty Rogerson; plus “His KIDs”, Angelia Cormier, Randy Green (Lauren), Tammy Vance, Tania Best and Patrick Best.
Calvin was born December 1, 1955 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. He was raised on a farm near Marshall, Saskatchewan and attended school in Marshall. He spent his early years working in the oil fields around Lloydminster and then later in steel construction around Vancouver. These past few years in Semi-Retirement, he worked part time at Lowes Hardware operating a forklift.
His enjoyments included family reunions and friends get togethers. His favorite travel destination was Cabo San Lucas in Mexico where Calvin and Sharon spent another 2 weeks just this past February. He was able to complete another item on his bucket list by having a couple of cocktails at the “Hotel California”.
Calvin will be dearly missed.
Services will be held for the immediate family at a later date.
