Doreen & I worked together for 2 years as Brownie leaders. I found her to be a a very caring person. She never missed a birthday. Both leaders and girls received a card and a present. She was my "telephone buddy" and my friend. (When guiding emails were sent out I would phone Doreen with the info) She enjoyed "sharing" (much like show & tell) She brought her collection of frogs to show the girls. There have been many girls that have known "Grandma Owl" She loved them all and they her. I shall miss a great friend and sister in guiding. Doreen was one of our best cookie sellers. She out sold most of the girls and I believe that she enjoyed doing it. My deepest sympathies go out to her family

Dear Sonny, lenny and family; Sincere sympathy to all of you. Doreen seemed to enjoy life and always had a sunny smile. Her eyes would light up when she spoke of going to hockey games for the grandchildren and of course Jetlans games too. May God Bless you all at this very difficult time. Love Aunty Margaret

Donnie, Lennie, Megan, Lindsey, Brenna, Marcel and I just wanted to say we have been thinking of you all since we heard the news of your mom and grandma. Doreen was an awesome lady. I never heard her complain or say anything bad about anyone she knew. What a light for our world. Love and prayers to you all. We are still in Edmonton watching Keri's baby grow so will be unable to attend the service for Doreen tommorrow but we will be thinking of you all. Barb and Marcel

I first met Doreen it was in Girl Guides. She never let anyone's birthday go by, even if it was not during the guiding year. Doreen and I were leaders in the same Bownie unit, which my daughter also attended. Doreen will be missed by all that knew her as she always smiled and was willing to help in any way.

At this time our family shares in your grief. We have lost a great friend, a wonderful lady - she will surely be missed and this says it even better! What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
