Obituary of Ed Hames
Edward "Ed" George Hames passed away at Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the age of 83 years.
Ed is survived by: his children, Debbie (Matt) Hayduk and their children, Tezla (Dan Chmielewski), Natasha (Ryan) Motyer and Nicole (Chris) Tuck; Todd (Janine) Hames and their children, Justine (Tyson) Bristow, Brittany Hames, Brooke (Paul) Bustillo and Shelby Hames; Murray (Trudy) Hames and their children, Katelyn and Lisa; great grandchildren, Edison and Nikolai Tuck and Caleb Bristow; sisters-in-law, Arlene George and Darlene Meunier; brother-in-law, Ken (Anne) Kvill; special friend, Marlene Hvidston; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
Ed was predeceased by: his loving wife, Jean Hames; granddaughter, Melina; parents, Ted and Pearl Hames; parents-in-law, Dave and Golline Kvill; sisters, Muriel Berry and Margaret Tulloch; brothers-in-law, Harold Berry, Ron Tulloch, Dale George and Gordon Meunier.
The prayer service will be held from McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 8:00 PM.
The Funeral Service for Ed will be conducted from Marwayne Community Hall, Marwayne, Alberta on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM. If you are unable to attend, you may view the live streaming of the service which will be posted on McCaw Funeral Service website under Ed's obituary at the time of the service.
Donations in memory of Ed may be made to Cross Cancer Society, Marwayne Agricultural Society or donor's charity of choice.
Thanks so much ~ The Hames family would like to sincerely thank everyone for the cards, flowers, food, visits, and the donations received in the memory of Ed Hames. Thanks to everyone who attended the Prayer Service in Lloyd or the Funeral Service in Marwayne, celebrating Dad’s life. Thanks to Colleen and staff of Colleen’s catering for the delicious lunch. The stories that were shared brought a smile to our face, dad was a friend and left an impression on many people. A very special thanks to Reverend Cathy Kinsman and Pastor Kevin Nelson for officiating and Brett McCaw for all his care and help. Also, thank you to the staff at the Lloydminster Hospital Palliative Care Unit and the medical team at the U of A Hospital. Everyone’s support at this difficult time was very much appreciated and of great comfort to our family.
