I was privileged to share a room at the U of A hospital with Jenny. She was a lively, spirited woman with an infectious laugh that loved and was extremely proud of her family. I was fortunate enough to meet Donna and Dean, saw the love they had for their mother, and see the positive impact she had in making them the wonderful, caring people that they are today. She has left a legacy. I enjoyed joking around with Jenny, we would just laugh at the silliest things-she sure made the sometimes somber atmosphere sparkle with her belly laugh. She and her laugh will be dearly missed. By the way, Jenny is probably really upset that she didn't get to clean out her treasure trove of craft stuff and other goodies-well Donna, I guess you and Dean get the pleasure of touching all of the great stuff that she loved. I believe she mentioned that there were lots of potatoes....! We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Julie and Henry Vanderhoek (5F4 roomie-6)

Donna, Dean & families, What a wonderful 'Celebration of Jennie's Life'!! Wow, a very good job & you can bet your mom was looking down at all of us with a huge smile on her face...You did her 'Proud'!! She truly was a beautiful person & if there was any doubt...just look at each other & your families. She touched so many people in one form or another...we are all truly blessed to have known her. She lives through all of us but each of you...I will be thinking of her when I look up at the stars or when I am sitting in the middle of the lake (in a boat of course?!). God Bless you all & especially God Bless Jennie!!!

On behalf of the Habitat for Humanity On the Border board of directors, we wish to extend our deepest sympathy on the loss of your wonderful (grand)mother. Working with Jenny at the ReStore meant that I knew a good day was in store for me. She found a nice rock for me to use as a paperweight and a plastic mouse to keep me company. Her practical jokes kept us all hopping. She was very proud of her kids and grandchildren. "Pooper" was the same age as my first grandchild so we shared stories. I admired her tenaciousness. On some of the earlier bad days, I'd ask her how come she didn't take a day off - her reply was that it was worse sitting at home feeling sorry for herself. We missed her at the ReStore when she left and thank God for the time she shared with all of us. God Bless your family

I will always remember Mrs. McGarry for her glowing smile, easy laugh and cheery disposition. During my last conversation with her, even though she was in the hospital and feeling poorly, she absolutely lit up and broke out laughing when describing things she had done during her trip to Mexico with Donna. It was very good to hear. Our most sincere condolences to the family in this time of sorrow.

To all of Jenny's family. Please except our deepest sympathy for your loss. Shirley worked with Jenny at the Restore and became good friends. I too, was always happy to talk to her on the phone, as she made me laugh. We'll miss all the treats she use to bring to the store as well as the ones she gave us to take home. Mostly we'll miss her great laugh. Shirley & Morris Eastman

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mom. Jennie was always dear to my heart. I had the priveledge of working with her at Marks Work Wearhouse many moons ago. "Grandma Jennie" always made us laugh and kept us all in line. We all loved and respected her very much. I haven't seen her often in the last few years although she was in my thoughts and prayers almost daily. She was a regular stop on our trick or treating route each year and it was always a treat to get to see her again and reminisce a bit about the past. Wow, what a fighter she was! She will be greatly missed. Take care , sincerely, Gina Wildeman

As this is a celebration of your life we thought it only fitting to say these words ... Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming... "WOO HOO what a ride!" Hope you continue that ride up in heaven!
