Our sincere condolences to Donna, Rory, Kimble, Dana and extended Christie Families.
After working for Ron and Larry at BMW Monarch for 5 years until the business was sold, Ron and I partnered on purchasing a 50% interest in a Motorsports Dealership in Edmonton, Cycle Works. Ron, the avid outdoorsman, loved the products and I loved the opportunity of having Ron as a business partner. Over the next 23 years as partners, along side Don Galloway, we built several more dealerships across Alberta, and grew the Cycle Works Group to one of the largest motorsports group in Canada.
Ron and I spoke often, always a little business (that's all he allowed me, lol) and lot about life, family and adventures. Ron was an awesome partner, mentor and friend to me and all the staff and partners at the Cycle Works group of companies. I couldn't have asked for a better guy!
Jim & Yvonne Zanello, and all the partners and employees of Cycle Works.

Our sincere condolences to the Christie family during this difficult time.
We met Ron in October of 1978. We had just moved to western Canada. Ron not only gave me a job at BMW, he invited
Mary Ellen and I to spend Christmas with his wife Colleen and their family. We are forever grateful to have known Ron. He was a great friend.
We will always remember him for his kindness, generosity and great sense of humour. In Ron's words, " They just don't come any better."

Donna, Janet and I were extremely saddened to hear of Ron's recent passing. Ron was one of the friendliest people we have ever met. We recall some years ago when we moved into our North Saanich neighborhood, Ron
rang our doorbell, introduced himself and welcomed us to the neighborhood. So kind and welcoming of him. Our sincerest condolences on Ron's passing. From all reports, Ron lived life to the fullest. May he rest in peace.

We are so sad that Ron is gone. He was a good friend to our family. He gave me lots of work putting up buildings at the farm and doing construction for BMW. We sketched out the original floor plans for the farm house on a napkin and later added an addition—this was done along with a glass of red wine. We stayed in touch over the years. We are so grateful for his friendship all these years. He will be missed.

Ron was an amazing friend to my Mom and Dad, Bill & Sharon Wright. They loved getting together to wine, dine and a great game of cards. They started their friendship way back in Lloydminster when Ron started BMW Monarch and over the years always kept in touch in one form or another. He will be greatly missed by my Mom and will now be reunited with his two good buddies, Wayne Friskie and my Dad. Thinking of you all, Love Sharon Wright, Clark & Heather Wright, Paige & Shane Snydal . We have made a donation on behalf of Ron to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation.

Every so often we would get a Ron call. “Just checking in, asking how we are.” (Who takes the time to show they care like that anymore? Ron did.) Ron’s last call announced an upcoming trip, with some family in tow, to visit us in Telegraph Cove this summer. Were going to miss those calls, that meant so much to us and visits, from Ron and his whole family. Know your all in our hearts. When we think of Ron we think of a good ol boy, with a heart of gold, who loved his family and his farm. All we can say is “good ride cowboy, good ride”.

Our deepest condolences to all as this is truly a life taken too soon. Ron added so much to all he met and was most welcoming in all aspects. Will miss playing 1500 with him (even though he almost always won). We were introduced to meat draws and many good times since meeting him. Our hearts and prayers go to Donna and family for this loss as this will indeed be a void that can never be filled. Much love and hugs!

Gerry & Sylvia Johnson from North Saanich BC wanting to express how sad we are of Ron’s sudden passing. Our sincere and heartfelt condolence’s to Ron’s family. A great guy taken far too early. I would have coffee with Ron most mornings when he was in town and play our little game to see who pays for the java.
Ron I hope they have a pen and knapkin up there so you may teach any new comers how to play it. RIP

Hey, BIGARNE here Arne Baron: I remember getting milk from the Christie Farm in the 70's, Lion's Meetings that never ended, Lion's campout Living life to the fullest, and never forgot who his life long friends were. My last contact with my friend Ron was at the Legacy Centre Par 3 Golf Tournament where he made himself known by his generosity. Thanks Donna for bidding up those Teddy Bears and buying all those 50/50 tickets. A friend never easily forgotten. Rest in Peace. Sympathy to the family for your loss.
