Dearest Sebastian, Iniubong; Mfonma and Sylvia,
Our Deepest Condolences on the loss of your beloved Wife and Mother Florence, after such a long and hard fought battle with cancer with you all by her side praying as Jesus did in his agony in the garden of gethsemane that *Father if you can, let this cup pass away, nevertheless, not my will but thy will be done*
What can we say, the Lord gives life and the Lord takes life.
May God who has been your strength, rock and hope all these years continue to give you all the comfort, consolation and courage through these tough times as you mourn her death, knowing in the faith that has kept you all through these tough times that as we profess in the creed *I believe in the communion of saints, the resurrection of the dead and life everlasting*, that her soul is resting in God's eternal peace where you will all be reunited one day in eternity.
In the words of the Serenity prayer, *may God grant you the serenity to accept the things you cannot change, the courage to change what you can and the wisdom to know the difference*
May our blessed Mother Mary who stood at the foot of the cross of her son Jesus be with you to comfort and strengthen you.
Rest assured of our thoughts and prayers.
The Beyere Family

It's so sad to know that Aunt is gone to be with the Lord. The news of your sudden demise reached us like an earthquake of high magnitude. It is a very difficult moment realising that our precious gift is no more with us. The vacuum created by your painful exit will be hard to fill.God understands it better than we do, and I pray that God should grant your soul eternal rest till we meet to part no more. Adieu.....

A Tribute to a great and worthy Cousin inlaw.
I have not forgotten how you cared for us at #1 Okoro Udo Mkpeng St., Abak, whenever my siblings and I came visiting.
We are at lost for words and we know there's nothing for us to say that will bring you back to life, we are deeply saddened by your demise. You were just a kind hearted and generous person, a woman who will be missed by everyone who came in contact with you because you effortlessly made everyone have a good time whenever we're with you. You had a great Character and a big heart.
Your sudden demise was least expected and it is very painful. It sent bad signals to us in the family.
You were courageous and you battled through every challenge you faced until time came calling you home to rest and you answered.
Sleep on Eka Sylvia till we meet to part no more.

May the light of this candle, remind you of Christ our light, lighting your way home and shining in the troubled hearts and souls of Sylvia, Mfonma, Iniubong and Sebastian who are left behind mourning your death, yet thanking God for seeing that you were tied and deciding to take you home to rest.

Florence Idiong. My friend turned Sister. My dearest sissy. Beautiful lady, in and out. I really hate that I'm writing this tribute and words fail me. What a journey you were on these past few years. And through it, you showed such strength and courage and faith. Death, where is your sting!!!
What words describe you? You were the epitome of strength. I don't know a stronger, braver person. You were so full of love, arms always open, ever accepting. A true Christian. You, my darling, were an embodiment of virtues and I am truly blessed to have known you. You were one woman too many!
You fought the battle so hard and with so much grace, ever cheerful; and I like to think that you won! I know if it was by physical strength, you wouldn't leave Sebastian and the kids. They were your life. But I'm sure you will watch over them.
I will remember you my darling sissy. I will remember your voice. I'll remember your laughter. I'll remember your words of wisdom. I will never forget you. You will forever be in my heart. And to live in the hearts of those who love you, is not to die. Adieu my sissy. Rest well in the bossom of your maker, till we meet again.
My dear Sebastian, I am so sorry for your loss. You also fought. For all you did, for being her solid rock, may God's blessings never depart from you. It may seem bleak now but watch and see how He will show up for you. Stay strong my brother and may God be with you all.

We fought the monster called ‘cancer’ together. We gave it a good fight and hoped for a turnaround. We are mere mortals and the plans of the immortal God are different than ours. TRIBUTE TO MY BIG SISTER.
The moment I realized,
my sister just died.
My hands cradled my face,
and I frantically cried.
Why did this happen,
and how could this be.
She had so much to live for,
we could all clearly see.
My heart simply dropped,
and felt a sharp pain.
My tears fell instantly,
Like a severe August rain.
I was truly lucky,
to have a sister like her.
Countless others,
nod and concur.
I will miss our talks,
and her comforting voice.
And those random moments,
where we’d mutually rejoice.
Rest in peace, big
Sister and best friend,
My deepest love,
to the sky I shall send.
We stand motionless,
consumed in grief.
Sorrow has arrived,
with smiles thief.
We’re gathered here,
to mourn and cry.
Our questions pointing,
at the clear blue sky.
My sister, why did you go,
why did you leave,
Life without you,
is so hard to conceive.
Our hearts are damaged,
and scarred severely.
We shall miss you,
much more than dearly.
For having you in our lives,
we’ve all been blessed.
But now the time has arrived,
for you to rest.
We promise to cherish,
our memories of you.
You shall live in our minds,
and all that we do.
I wish you sweet sleep, my sister dear.
Although there’s so much that you’ve left bare
I hate that you had to endure such pain
On my mind, your saddened eyes have left a stain.
I want to know what crossed your mind
Unspoken words you’ve left behind
Undone things we’ll never do
No sharing thoughts you never knew.
A peace has fallen upon your head
A taste of sorrow we have been fed
It really is like a hole in our lives
One swiftly dug but carved out by knives.
But I have hope that those sleeping will rise
The Bible says that God will open their eyes.
No suffering, sickness, yes not even pain,
Those who did good, eternal life they’ll gain.
So… sleep on my big sister, sleep tight
For now with you the sky is night.
But after night will come daybreak
Therefore I will wait hoping to see you awake.
A sister, a wife, a mother too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a sister, wife or mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.
God looked around his garden and found an empty place
He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
With the help of his angels they flew you to your heavenly place
Gods garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best
He knew you were suffering, he knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never get well on Earth again
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills too hard to climb
He closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be Thine”
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
Never thought I’d lose you,
But here I am,
Standing alone,
Without you by my side,
But now you’re gone,
I don’t know what to do,
Without you,
I’m going crazy,
I’m trying to hold on,
To keep strong,
But it just doesn’t feel right,
I’m waiting here,
My arms wide open,
Tears running down my face,
Ready for your return,
Even if it takes forever,
My sister…
I’m blessed to call you big sister,
I also call you friend;
You’ve loved me unconditionally,
And stood through thick and thin.
You’ve shared my joys and sorrows,
My laughter and my tears.
You’ve been my inspiration,
As we grew up through the years. You stood by me,
Through good and stormy weather.
There’s something God has given us,
That’s more than family;
He’s placed a love for you, my Sister,
Deep down in the heart of me.
How is it that I never saw your wings
when you were here with me?
When you closed your eyes and soared
to the Heavens I could hear the
faint flutter of you wings as you left.
Your body no longer on this side
Your spirit here eternally I see your halo shine.
I close my eyes and see the multi-coloured wings
surround me in my saddest moments and my happiest times.
Sister my angel God has given you your assignment
always my sister forever my angel.
You fly into my dreams and when I am asleep
I feel your wings brush against my face wiping away
the tears I shed since I can no longer hold
you in my arms but in my heart.
You earned those wings dear sister
and you will always be my angel eternal.
My sister, you loved me from the heart,
No matter how much we argued, we could not be drawn apart. You were a friend who helped me through difficult times,
Your comforting words were worth much more than dimes.
A partner who filled my life with laughs and smile,
These memories last for miles and miles. When you were by my side, my world was filled with life,
When you were not around, my days were full of strife.
My sister, you were a blessing, who filled my heart with love,
You flew with me in life with the beauty of a dove. You were a companion to whom I could express my feelings,
Whether I am having my ups or downs,
You always helped me with a smile and never frowns. With you, I cannot have a grudge,
You were as sweet as chocolate and as smooth as fudge.
Having a sister like you was not just a trend,
It is knowing I could always turn to you, my best friend.
May your gentle soul rest in peace Amen.

Tribute to my dear sister
There is a street called "MEMORY LANE" on my heart were memories of good people are kept. I can't forget how nice you were to me.
Death is the only visitor that knocks and never waits to be invited in, such is the irony of life. It was like the moon disappearing from the sky when I found out you were taken away by the cold hands of death.
Big sis, it is only that I will not see you again. "To sleep in the Lord is not to die", you will be remembered for your kindness, gentleness, selflessness, uprightness and love.
May your humble soul find rest in the bosom of the Lord.

A Poem of Mutual Farewell in Celebration of life of late Mrs Florence Idiong (Nee Akpan Udo).
A lady of ladies
A pillar of support
A true help mate
A virtuous woman
Florence sure departs
Gone with the Angels
A beloved mother
A midwife with vocation
A phenomenal lady
An Ambassador of Faith
Florence sure departs
Received by Christ
A lover of God
A peace broker
A sharer of Faith
A beloved of Jesus Christ
Though Florence departs
Her Godly virtues trend
Sir Sebastian, my beloved
Journey to rest is real
Peace in the Lord will heal
Children are there to nurture
Florence departs to glory
Until family reunion someday
Fare thee well my beloved
Partners in the Lord we’re
Christ’s been in our union
Will I hold your hands again
Farewell my Florence
Peace of God until we meet

Dear Iniubong, Mfonma & Sylvia,
LETTER OF CONDOLENCE
We are very sorry for your loss. There are times when things happen that even grownups do not have the answers or the right words- this is one of those times.
We went to school with your dad in Nigeria and he was our class representative in the Sociology & Anthropology graduating class of 1999. His character and caring nature led him to your late mom, a loving and wonderful lady. One of our fondest memories of your mom is a video your dad shared with us, of your family singing and praising God together joyfully.
As you and your sisters achieve all the great things that God has in store for you, keep your mom in your hearts. Remember her loving hugs and tenderness. She loved her family immensely. We know your hearts ache with sadness, your entire family is in our thoughts and prayers.
We are here for you, may The Lord wrap all of you in His comforting arms. We are truly sorry for your immeasurable loss. May the soul of your mom rest peacefully, Amen.
Yours faithfully,

To Sebastian, Ini, Mfonma and Sylvia. I am so saddened about Florence's passing. It just doesn't seem fair. You all did everything you knew to do for her healing, surrendered to the Lord, following His guidance and direction, praying, proper diet, supplements, forgiveness and supporting each other. We knew God would either heal her here or take her home to be with Jesus. We may not understand why so early, so young. Was it Isaiah 57:1, "The righteous pass away; the godly often die before their time. ... God is protecting them from the evil to come. For the godly who die will rest in peace." She so wanted to be here for you Sebastian and for you, you wonderful children. I love you all so much and I am honoured to have been a part of her journey. I will continue to love you, pray for you and support you in any way that I can. Love and blessings to you, Irene

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain - Phillipians 1:21.
Florence was a woman of faith and indeed she held on to her faith in Christ, trusting Jehovah till the end. Like the apostle Paul said; I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith....2 Timothy 4:7.
My family and I will always remember her as a woman of faith. We pray that God Almighty will comfort my Brother Sebastian and their lovely children.
May the soul of Florence and that of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 NKJV
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” John 11:25 NKJV
My darling sister and friend, Florence; You have fought an excellent fight. You have finished your full course with all your might and you’ve kept your heart full of faith. You will dearly be missed sweetheart, beautiful soul in and out, Rest on the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ!
