Les was such a kind, gentle gentleman who went out of his way to see and visit with me at the store. Les made whoever he was smiling at and visiting with feel they important to him and that he valued you. To Les' family I extend my deepest condolences for the loss of such a dear and kind man.

Mary-Ellen and I always enjoyed visiting with Les when we were at Bill and Linda's for special events. He was a true down to earth gentleman always. He had a quiet way of expressing his great sense of humour and always made us feel comfortable and welcome at the Charrow Charolais ranch. I'm positive that he was this way with all that he encountered and witnessed it in person one day that I happened to stop to see Bill and he wasn't home. Les came from doing chores to visit with me and we talked for about 10 minutes when a potential customer rolled in to look at some bulls. I said well you'd better use your time with paying customers instead of me. He thanked me for stopping and assured me he'd let Bill know I'd stopped. He turned to the other folks and began discussing cattle, always facing them and speaking knowledgeably. As he motioned them to come look at the animals he turned and waved to me and when he turned to follow them I saw that he was truly putting his best look forwards as his chore coveralls were torn open from mid back to mid thigh. He never let that stop a good visit or potential sale.
Please accept our deepest condolences,
Greg and Mary-Ellen Gulak

Dearest Helen (Mim) and Tom (Dad), Chris, Justin, Rebecca and Aliyah; Bill and Linda and family: Our heartfelt prayers for you during this time of sadness. We have had the honour of knowing Les through your family and he was an absolute gem of a man. He had a way that made you feel welcomed and special, “a part of the family” as he greeted us when we’d be down visiting. A man of the land, his face creased with the character of decades of fresh air and hard work, a twinkle in his eyes, he filled the room with warmth like a crackling wood fire in a hearth. Strong and gentle, a true gentleman cowboy was laid to rest. He loved his family, his land and his cattle. I’m sure there is a golden, jewel lined cowboy hat on his head now. We are better people for knowing him. He will be missed but never forgotten. What a legacy he leaves. Love Melanie, Todd, Anna and Simeon

Lordy Christmas but I have such wonderful memories of Les! Letting me “help” with chores when I was a kid, spending nights at the farmhouse giggling until all hours with Helen, sharing scoldings when we misbehaved, and hugs. A true gentleman and I’m proud to have known him. My condolences and much love to his family.
