Obituary of Rose Saunders
Rose Saunders (Uschi Schlemme) of Blackfoot Alberta passed away quietly at home with family that loves her dearly.
Rose will be sadly missed by: her husband, Ervin; daughters, Tandea Saunders (Wally Tobin) of Vegreville and Connie Anderson of Lloydminster; granddaughter, Kylea; brother, Seigfried (Lorrie) Schlemme of Lethbridge; sister-in-law, Bessie Schlemme of Calgary; numerous nieces and their families, and many friends.
Rose, daughter of the late Karl and Irmgard Schlemme, was predeceased by: brothers, Helmut and Manfred Schlemme; and son, Monty Lietz.
Rose was born August 10. 1944 in Uslar, Germany. In 1953 the family immigrated to Canada to farm the fields in Turin, AB, before moving to Coaldale and finally settling in Lethbridge. Lethbridge is where Rose met Erv Saunders; they married in 1972 and later, had their daughter, Tandea. After living in Calgary for many years they moved to Turtle Lake, SK and then to Blackfoot AB. They had many great times with family and friends boating on the lake, waterskiing, and fishing.
Rose loved to golf – well, it was love/hate as anyone who golfs will relate to. Rose took up art and painting and has produced many beautiful works of art that adorn the walls of many family and friends.
Rose has always had a love of animals and has had many pets over the years. She also had a love of gardening and flowers, especially roses and lilies. Rose was a very sociable lady; her laugh would light up the room.
The Funeral Service for Rose will be conducted from McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the service will be by invitation only. The service will be live streamed and posted on the McCaw Funeral Service website under Rose's obituary at the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rose may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
The Saunders Family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses on the second floor of the Lloydminster Hospital, doctors, pharmacists at Safeway in Lloydminster, and the Home Care Nurses.
