Mrs. Christianson taught every one of the Vokins children grade 1. She was an amazing teacher whom we all remember fondly. Our mother, Phyllis Vokins, was thrilled that she remained the grade 1 teacher at Avery School for years. Mom even presented her with a gift after she taught our youngest brother, Brian, thanking her for teaching the Vokins 5. We all have fond memories of her as our teacher. What a wonderful legacy as a teacher she has left in this community. Sympathy to her entire family members. The Vokins Family

I knew Doris from both of us being on the staff of Lloydminster Public Schools. Doris was a good example to follow as a teacher and community member. Doris broke her hip when she was in her sixties and it was a real handicap for the rest of her life. She never complained. I saw more of Doris in later years visiting her in the Hearthstone. She was always interested in people and especially news of former teachers. Sympathy to family members and friends.

Dear Family and friends, Doris was my parents' neighbour and very close friend to my mother Joyce Essar. This picture was taken at Alex Essar's 90th birthday in 2006. It shows Doris with Frances Lundquist, Elsie Malka and me, Irene (Essar)Temple. Doris, you were a good friend and we loved you. Thank you for being so interested in our children. Seeing you and Mel at Hearthstone, and going to Mr. Bill's for supper with Frances, Elsie and the Cardes, were always highlights of our trips to Lloyd. Irene and Rick Temple
