Erika and Kris I was so stunned to see this. I wish I could be near to hug you both! I regret that we never reconnected and now that opportunity is gone. What a loss for you and your kids and so, so many. Not the least of which is myself, Karl and Lauren. So many memories and good times. I pray she had a good life after we lost touch. God Bless.

I had the pleasure of helping your mother, Hazel, make her bed because she couldn't balance herself at first. She was in progress with her recovery and it was a great shock when I heard the news of her passing. She will be missed. Trudy Dort Health Care Aide

In Les's words- "Hazel was a cadillac". I was fortunate enough to meet Hazel for two visits over the last two years. She arrived at the Nanton, Alberta Wilson/Parsons Ranch in a swirl of dust- car packed to the roof with suitcases, hat boxes, makeup bags and her treasured drinks of the day. I immediately was drawn to her flamboyant, fun loving nature and we became friends. She shared many funny experiences with us- some enough to raise your eyebrows. Love poured out of her while she spoke with such pride of her son, daughter and grandchildren. Friends seemed to surround her in many towns and cities- dust did not settle on our Hazel. She was the best Christian I had ever met. She and Les talked once a week- and Hazel always put Les in his place when he needed it. Bickering and laughter filled their phone calls! Her second visit was to Vernon to see Les and I. She laughingly shared some ideas of how to manage Les- her little brother who she dearly loved. We will miss this beautiful lady! Be glad we had the time to love her!

Dear Erika, Kristian, cousin Les, and families,
We are so sorry for your loss! Such a wonderful woman with a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Our mom, Auntie Margie, was close to Hazel - she came by our place (Richmond, BC) quite often or when distance prevented she chatted frequently with mom on the phone, thus we were fortunate enough to get to know her quite well. Just a few weeks ago, Hazel called us (Diane & Doug) … and even though we haven't talked in years you'd think we were best friends by how easy it was to chat with her, catching up on what everyone in our families was up to. We are so shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. The world has lost an amazing soul. She will certainly live forever in our hearts and minds! With all our love, Diane, Wes, Doug and families. xoxoxo

Dear Erika and family,
It is with great sorrow I received the news of your mom’s passing. I hope you can take comfort in the fact that her wisdom, kindness and spirit lives on in you, Kris, Brennan and Hudson. She left behind a great legacy and was so proud of you all. I wish I could be there, in person, to give you a great big hug and honour Mrs. L.
To say your mom was one of a kind is an understatement. She lived and loved with a zest for life equal to none and was the only person I knew that would do her hair and makeup to weed the garden!
The memories of your mom are countless and vivid. Her infectious laugh and smile that would light up a room. The countless chats in which she gave us life advice. The Christmas music in the summer. The matching hats, purses and capes. She was an original. Who could forget the dinner party she held for us in middle school? I can still remember her patiently trying to teach us and the neighbourhood boys table etiquette.
One of my fondest memories was your mom’s attempt to teach us Fruitvale girls how to properly walk in heels for grad. I can only imagine what the neighbours thought of a group of girls shakily parading around the house with their heels on and books on their heads! This year, when my own daughter decided to buy white van sneakers to go under her grad dress, I couldn’t help to wonder “What would Mrs. L think?”.
I know this is a loss that hits you all deeply. Hold tight to each other and to your memories.
With love,
Heather, Brad, Ally and Ben

To all that knew Hazel you know she was a friend to all. And cared that we were all good. Volunteering around her at the end of the day she came around with a candy for us all. Family take care!

Our thoughts are with you at this time. Your Mom was a wonderful lady, she always had time for a visit, always was quick to help out with the Sunshine Club, and each time with that infectious smile! She will be missed by all her Frontier Manor staff and family.
