Mark, aka MOOSE, was a dedicated driver for Rosenau Transport in Lloydminster for over 11 years and will be missed by his coworkers and several businesses around town.
In his younger years, Mark enjoyed playing in Paris Minor Hockey. Living next door to the Paris Fairgrounds he developed a love and dedication to Standardbred horse racing, owning his own horses and helping friends with theirs, especially his good friend, John Smith of Burford, Ontario. He loved NASCAR racing and you always knew where he would be on Sunday afternoons. Recently he enjoyed several outings with his lifelong friend Terry Simon, fishing for Pickerel on the North Saskatchewan River. Mark’s smile, wonderful sense of humour and gentle nature drew people and animals to him wherever he went.
We would like to express our gratitude to our dedicated family doctor, Tinesha Govender and the many physicians who cared for Mark during his several hospital stays. Thanks to Home Care and Palliative Care nurses for the unwavering, compassionate care they gave Mark during his final weeks.
The Celebration of Life for Mark will be conducted from McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 2:00 pm. Cremation has taken place and interment will be at Paris Cemetery at a later date.
