My sympathy to the Pilgrim family on Bud’s passing. His parents, Sam and Mary, lived just two doors down from us when I was just a kid in Hazenmore. I also remember Bud playing ball with the Hazenmore team. Both Bud and Nellie were wonderful people.

Our sincere condolences to the Pilgrim family.
My first memories of Bud (who was my mother's cousin) are of visiting the family on their farm south of Aneroid. When I was a teenager, Bud played baseball in Hazenmore with my dad (Melvin), Newton Pratt, Johnny and Ken Lawrence, Murray, Johnny, and Gordon McDonald, Art Howells and several others. I was privileged to play some games with this team, mostly when they were short of more experienced players. Bud was the first person I ever heard of who played ball as a senior in Arizona, and that knowledge inspired me to seek out a senior ball team (slo-pitch) when I retired 14 years ago. Now that I am 74, my wife and I are still playing slo-pitch and enjoying it immensely. Thanks for the inspiration, Bud.
