It’s hard to pick just one memory of such a character. And it’s even harder when I think about the memories I was looking forward to making.
What stands out most about Papa Jacques were the evenings we spent drinking and just talking after everyone else had fell asleep. He always made time to talk to me if he sensed I needed it. He always made me feel comfortable sharing my personal struggles and I’m going to miss having his nonjudgemental ear to talk to.
He made it clear that he loved me, no matter what, and as far as father in laws go, I hit the jackpot.
I love you Papa Jacques, to the moon.
