My Mom & Merle knew each other for decades. They wrote letters , phone calls & over the years some visits. Each Christmas was always a joy to get photos & share the year between our families. When my Mom passed just before Christmas 2017, Merle was a steady voice & comfort as I deeply missed Mom. I treasure those phone calls & texts...What an extraordinary woman & how she touched all of us. On behalf of our family, we will be thinking of you all Friday & in the days that follow. Sincerely, Laura Buker

My condolence to all the family. Your Mom and grandmother always enjoyed life to It`s fullest. I still remember the good times we had at their farm south of Waseca when we would visit Phil and Jack (my mother`s first cousins).. Your Mom was very much part of the good times and a cordial host. Her love for horses, music and her yard... all great memories. In later years, always a happy greeting and chat. She will be missed by all. Sincerest sympathy.

I was very sorry to learn of Merle's passing. I remember her smiling face & positive attitude well. She always had a hug for me whenever I returned home for a visit & ran into her. Growing up, I envied her passion for horses (a common thread between us) & zest for life. I have many fond memories of her! Sincere condolences to her whole family.

I am very thankful that i had a chance to reconnect with Auntie Merle and the family 2 years ago. It was under sad circumstances as it was at my gramma Lois' (G.G.) funeral but also happy because i was able to see family that i hadnt seen for many years. My children and my grandson had a chance to meet Auntie Merle for the first time that day and talked about her nonstop for months after only meeting her the one time. She was such a happy loving soul. The kids only had a few hours to get to know her...but the loving impression she left on them they will never forget. I will be FOREVER grateful for that...But anyone that knew Auntie Merle knew thats how she was. A very loving gentle soul. You are very loved and will be greatly missed Auntie Merle. Love you .Michelle

I am so thankful that I had a chance to know Merle. She was full of life and always cheerful and upbeat. She stayed current and relevant. My Mom, Vonnie enjoyed many fun filled days with Merle. They both loved to play music and visit with people telling jokes and causing trouble. I wish you all the very best. My sincere sympathy to the entire family. Myra Rutherford
