My sincerest condolences to you, Helen, and to your three daughters, and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Your husband treated me and my children, John and Ruth, with much kindness while he was principal at Pre Cam School in Lac La Ronge. May God be with you and your family, and grant you and your loved ones the strength and comfort that you all need.

Bernie was principal when I taught at Pre Cam and when I became vice principal, we worked closely together. He taught me to always listen and hear all sides of a situation before making a decision. He was easy going and had a great sense of humour. He will be remembered by so many teachers, students and parents. His legacy as an educator is that he inspired so many with his kind, gentle ways. Our sympathy to Helen and his family.

My condolences to Bernie's family. He was a good friend of my great grandparents. And was the principal of my old school Pre-Cam, I will always remember the time I got called into the office for fighting with a white boy, of course for being native. Little did the teacher who sent me there, didn't realize that Bernie knew my Thompson side. So he just told me not to do it again :)..

We were sad to hear of Bernie's passing. Although it has been many years since living in La Ronge, we have great memories of Bernie: his infectious smile, his easy going manner, his habit of listening before speaking, his knowledge of all the kids names at Pre-Cam, and his love of his family to mention a few. Bernie brought stability and calmness to the school in his years as principal in La Ronge, We pray that the family will experience peace during this time of sadness, and wonderful memories of your husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather in the days ahead.

Uncle Bernie will be missed by so many that he inspired. I always had so much love and respect for him. His quiet gentle personality hid an incredible sense of humour that I loved. My heart is sad but I know he is in a good place along with many of our loved ones.Grieve his passing but cheer his ascent to heaven. And hold each other in love.
