To the family; we have been away so missed Shorty's celebration but wanted to pass along our sympathy. We loved having Shorty bowl with us. He would have supper with Stuart and Millie and then they all came down to League Bowl. Shorty was in it for the socializing and his laughter would fill the bowling alley. I will never forget his wonderful sense of humor. Our prayers to the family.

As mentioned previously by my brother, Edward, I too remember many of the stories that our mother (Sister Florence) handed down - tales of her childhood on the prairies with her parents, brothers and sisters. I also remember our visit "out west" when I was about five, and vaguely recall Uncle Raymond; however thanks to The Rutherfords - neighbors and dear friends of his, I have learned much more about him with fondness, and will treasure those memories even more so.

He will be missed. My most sincere cndolances to you all. Mom had some terrific stories of your dad in his early years. I met him when I was ten yrs old when on a visit many years ago. He is now at rest with Aunt Ione , Mom (Sister Florence) and of coarse Uncle Peter. Thinking of you all. Ed Smith, eldest son of Florence (Gannaw) and Mel Smith

Dear Carla, Paula, Hollis, Kirsty and families; We just wanted to pass on our most sincere condolances to you all. What a wonderful picture of Shorty, that smile and laugh just sort of says it all, doesn't it? We really enjoyed his sense of humour, he was always such great company. He is finally with Ione again, he missed her so much when she passed away, as I know you all did. These last years have been quite a struggle for him, I am so glad he is now at peace. Also to Ian and Sharon, we should all be so lucky to have such wonderful friends, as you were to Shorty and Ione. Take care everyone.
