Obituary of Genevieve Atkinson

Genevieve Merle Atkinson passed away suddenly at Dr. Hemstock, Lloydminster, Alberta on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the age of 94 years. Genevieve is survived by: her son, Roy (Vicki) Atkinson; her daughter, Brenda Atkinson; her granddaughters, Jodi Gidilewich, Denise (Dean) Giesbrecht; her grandson, Lee (Shelly) Atkinson; her great grandsons, Tanner, Connor, Ryne; and her great granddaughters, Vanessa, Lexi and Julia. Genevieve was predeceased by: her husband, Allan; her son, Tim; and daughter-in-law, Linda. Genevieve was born in Daysland, Alberta. She went to high school in Greenstreet and Lloydminster. She met and married Allan Atkinson in Lloydminster where she raised her children and resided for the rest of her life. Genevieve and Allan enjoyed square dancing, bowling, golf and playing cards with their numerous friends. In her later years they enjoyed traveling to many places. Genevieve often mentioned how proud she was of her family and loved them very much. The Funeral Service for Genevieve will be conducted from Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:30 AM. Donations in memory of Genevieve may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Charity of Choice.
