Obituary of Mary Rose McLeod

Mary Rose McLeod born on October 9th 1960 in Shaunavon Saskatchewan passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 12th 2016 in Lloydminster. A Celebration of life will be held at 2 PM on Friday September, 23rd 2016 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 2704 58 Ave, Lloydminster, Ab. Family wishes you wear bright attire. Light lunch and reminiscing to follow. Mary attended various schools, her formative years in Drayton Valley and Coronation. She married Duncan (Byng) on October 4, 1980 in Coronation Alberta. She graduated from NAIT with her Medical Laboratory Technologist in 1980. Mary worked at the Lloydminster Hospital Laboratory for her entire career. Mary had a great love for family, outdoor activities, and sports. Making soccer her main sport of interest in the last part of her life. Mary is lovingly remembered by her spouse, Duncan Byng McLeod, her sons Dylan and Jordan, her granddaughter Brooke Jackson, her brother Peter O’Toole (Brenda), Catherine Watts (Doug), Margaret Solyom (Les), Shirley O’Toole (Martin), sister in-law Norene Tchir (Bob), many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, aunts, uncles and her honorary family “Mary’s Girls” and the “Lab Coffee Group”. Mary is predeceased by her loving parents Floyd and Ethel O’Toole (Fritz). She fell ill with pancreatic cancer in July 2015. Duncan has been a very attentive caregiver, spoiling and treating her at every opportunity. He will need support now that Mary is gone. She was thankful for the time she had with family and friends supporting her with visits, outings and treats. The family of Mary wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the Doctors, nurses and support staff at the Lloyminster Hospital, home care, and The Cross Cancer Institute.
