Obituary of John Severson

SEVERSON ~ John Severson, age 63, of Lloydminster, Alberta, passed away suddenly at his home on November 9, 2015. John was born on February 21,1952 in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan to Philip and Annie Lindenbach. He was adopted by Lucy and Albin Severson of Edam, Saskatchewan at the age of six. He attended the country school of Blackfoot for his elementary years and Harry Hardcastle High in Edam for his secondary education. John worked at a variety of occupations: farm labourer, plumber, house painter, oil serviceman and maintenance man in the North Battleford and Lloydminster areas. He then gained employment with Days Hotel and Suites, working to become their Maintenance Manager, a position he maintained until his passing. John was predeceased by his birth parents, Annie and Philip Lindenbach; his adoptive parents, Lucy and Albin Severson; brothers: Lyle Severson, Walter Lindenbach, Donald Lindenbach and Arthur Lindenbach; sisters: Susan Colombe, Louise Garman and Judy Fontaine; brother- in-law , Leo Garman; sister-in-law, Shaunna Lindenbach; and nephew, Kevin Garman. John is survived by brothers, Ed (Shirley) Lindenbach, Richard (Dianna) Bromstad and Allan (Florence) Severson; sisters, Leona Garman , Minnie Garner and Norma ( Gordon) Thompson; brothers-in-law, Larry Garman and Willie Fontaine; sister-in-law, Rita Severson; aunt, Madge Severson; uncle, Woodrow Severson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John enjoyed fishing, was a licensed scuba diver and like to read. He earned several awards through work. John cared deeply for his "Days Hotel and Suites family" developing life long friendships with them . A celebration of life service was held in Lloydminster on November 20th at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
