Dear Margaret and family It is with sadness that we heard of Bud's passing. He was a kind and gentle person who always had time to talk and listen to what was new in our lives. He always had a smile and approached each of us in a special way that made us feel important. Growing up in Kitscoty and having Bud as a mentor was the best. Associating with him through the hockey years, the PC campaign years or the fun times in Kitscoty, our memories of Bud that we remember! With sincere sympathy to the Miller family, Sheila and Dale Hutchinson Sheryl and Rick Gray

My condolences to Margaret and family; especially my good friend Sandra, and to Ken, who has been such a great caregiver to both Bud and Margaret over the past several years. They so appreciated it and Bud often mentioned it; that, and what the grandchildren were doing! He lived a great life and left many memories.

Betty & I send our sincere condolences. Bud was a close colleague for many years as an MLA and Minister. His hospitality and cheerful presence was renowned by all who served with him. He made a real contribution to his constituency and Alberta. He will be missed not only by his family but by a host of those whose lives he touched.

We wish the family our sincere condolences. Tim served with Bud on the Lloydminster Community Futures board for many years. In that capacity, Bud, Bill, Corinne, Tim & I had the chance to participate in functions in Inuvik, NWT in April 2000. Bud was a gallant gentleman. When he and I (Susan) had missed the only taxi back to the hotel, our choice was to wait for another hour or walk the half mile in the arctic wind. Bud decided to make the trip, and I tagged along. He could have gotten there faster without me, but he would pause every hundred steps to wait for me, even though his earmuffs were not enough. His intelligence and ability to view situations from different angles was a joy to witness. We will not be able to attend the memorial service. Thank you Bud for your service to the community!

Every conversation with Bud included an update about Margaret and the children and in the later years the grandchildren. Love and pride were always prominent. The passion and desire to serve those who lived in his region remained evident today. Whether it be a facility, a park or support for any team Bud found a way. Anyone who had an issue with red tape found an ally in Bud.
When we consider how the economy of the region has evolved, especially stabilizing the heavy oil and its growth, leaders like Bud, Maz and McKnight made it happen because it was the right thing to do. Bud`s vision for the future and his ability to bring people with energy along side just got things done.
We`ve travelled thousands of miles together, enjoyed wonderful conversations and seen the lives for many generations enjoy greater opportunities and lifestyle. Bud championed the Alberta Rural Gasification program, something we all take for granted.
Bud, I thank you for being a mentor, an encourager and most of all a great friend. You deserve to rest in peace after your lifelong labours and journey.
Fondest memories. Rest in peace J.E. `Bud` Miller

I am deeply saddened by the death of Bud and extend my thoughts to Margaret and her family. I recently met Bud at the Dr. Cooke and we always had a chat whenever I came in to visit my husband or to assist with dinner. I was there every couple of days. Bud, Margaret and my husband, Wayne, sat at the same dinner table for several weeks in November and early December. Bud was always making sure that Margaret had enough juice, or extra dessert, and, sometimes, she offered him some of her food, as well. I always enjoyed the two of them, together.
