Sophia Smith passed away at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the age of 93 years.
Sophia was born in the North Bend District, Saskatchewan on August 23, 1921 to Anna and John Freyman.
Sophia leaves to mourn her passing: her loving husband of 75 years, Les; two daughters: Gladys Toth and Colleen (Dwain) McMillan; two sons: Alvin Smith and Grant (Linda) Smith; one son-in-law, Wayne Shirtliffe; six granddaughters: Laureen (Darrel), Kim, Lynn (Dale), Janet (Kurt), Diana (Dave) and Lindsay (Nyles); three grandsons: Dwaine, Ryan (Julia) and Les (Katie); 17 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Sophie was predeceased by her daughter, Lynne; grandson, Mark; son-in-law, Tony; parents: John and Anna Freyman; her eight siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
