Obituary of Lorne Lillemoen

LILLEMOEN ~ Lorne Anthony Lillemoen passed away in Edmonton, Alberta on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the age of 70 years.
Lorne was born and raised in Lloydminster. He worked in the oilfield industry for most of his life. He really enjoyed watching the Edmonton Eskimos, Edmonton Oilers and NASCAR racing. He could think of nothing better than to sit down and have a drink with his friends and family to share stories and talk sports. He liked to tease everyone and always had a smart ass remark to add to any situation.
Lorne is survived by his sister, Karen (Ron) Amundrud; nephews, Bryan (Donna) Babey, Gregg (Yvonne) Babey, and Paul (Jennifer) Amundrud; nieces, Myrna (Dean) VanGenderen, Rhonda (Ron) Webber, and their families; brother-in-law, Abe Unrau; as well as numerous cousins.
Lorne was predeceased by: his father, Louie Lillemoen; mother, Gladys Christie; step-father, Dale Christie; sister, Sylvia Babey; and brother-in-law Warren Babey.
The Celebration of Life for Lorne was conducted from the Royal Canadian Legion, Lloydminster, SK on November 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
Honorary Pallbearers were all the family and friends in attendance.
Interment took place at the Lloydminster City Cemetery.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
CARD OF THANKS
On behalf of the family of Lorne Lillemoen, we would like to thank all the nursing staff and Doctors at the University of Alberta Hospital, and the staff at the Lloydminster Hospital for their compassionate care of him. Thank you to the Pioneer Lodge and to the Home Care for helping Lorne these past years with his care.
Thanks for all the phone calls and cards from his friends and family during this difficult time, and for sharing the stories they have had with Lorne. To Lorne's brats and Donna thanks for all your help during this time and making T-shirts in his honor, so glad he had friends like you around. Thank you again to the Royal Canadian Legion for the use of their hall, and for the lunch they put on for his Celebration of Life.
Donations in memory of Lorne may be made to the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, Palliative Care and Chemotherapy Unit at the Lloydminster Hospital.
