Obituary of Elizabeth Kreiser

Elizabeth Kreiser November 7, 1962 - August 11, 2014 It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Elizabeth Kreiser (née Owen), 51, who passed away on the morning of August 11, 2014 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. She was surrounded by family and friends as her battle with cancer of over three years came to an end. Elizabeth was born in Ibadan, Nigeria to John and Jacqueline Owen and grew up in Saskatoon, SK. She was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and the University of Saskatchewan. She married Francis Kreiser on July 22, 1989 and recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her spouse Francis; her children: Carmen, Patricia, Carolina, Miguel, David, Joshua and Claire; her parents John and Jacqueline; her brothers: Philip and Andrew and numerous other extended family members. Elizabeth was a Special Education teacher and taught French Immersion for over twenty years in both Saskatoon and Lloydminster. She was an active volunteer with VICS: Volunteer International Christian Service, having served two years at Hogar Belén, an orphanage in Moquegua, Peru where she adopted her four oldest children. After returning to Canada, she helped her husband organize numerous shipments of relief supplies to Hogar Belén. She was also involved in numerous community organizations for many years, especially organizations supporting people with special needs out of steadfast love. Elizabeth always put her family, her friends and her students first in every aspect of her life. She touched the lives of every person she met. In lieu of flowers, donations for Hogar Belén can be made by contacting her family. Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her family and all those who she inspired.
