Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. It is said that the souls of our departed become stars as they reach heaven. Ritchie will always be our star no matter where. He was the first Big Brother in the Big Brothers organization of Lloydminster in 1973. He continued to support the organization in many different ways since then. The community will miss an awesome volunteer! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lloydminster

Good things come in small packages. Ritchie was always so, kind, caring and thoughtful to others, while refusing to seek attention for his own health woes, which included dialysis for many years in between acquiring a third - and then a fourth - kidney, which allowed him to lead an active sports life including golf and curling in his later years. Before that, Ritchie was a speedy captain of the Lloydminster Huskies and Chevies senior hockey teams which captured provincial honors. He also coached Little League Baseball and played a great fast pitch game, too. But, mostly to me, he was just a wonderful friend when he visited me in my hospital stays at Saskatoon and Edmonton. Always, he placed others before himself while deflecting any praise that rightfully came his way ... RIP, dear friend.

I'm saddened to hear about the passing of Ritchie. I knew him over the years from working at the Communiplex. He was an avid golfer and curler in his day. In his later years he would still come up for coffee and we'd chat just so he could keep up on all the news. He was a kind soul and a true gentleman. Heaven is truly gaining an angel.

Vi.and Family; My deepest sympathy in the passing of Ritchie. He was a very kind person to all. Ken and I always enjoyed his company be it curling, golf or over a cup of coffee. May all your memories be of comfort to you in this time of need. God Bless. Irene Waring
