Obituary of Eva Sutherland

Eva May (Noble) Sutherland passed away peacefully at the Pine Island Lodge, Maidstone, Saskatchewan on March 19, 2014 at the age of 93 years.
Eva was predeceased by her husband, Carl on August 24, 1978; daughter, Gloria in 1952; daughter, Mary on December 20, 2012; twin sons: Eugene "Gene" (Georgina) on September 22, 1996 and James "Jim" on October 19, 1999; parents: Harry and Isabella; brother, James; and sisters: Gladys, Margaret and Vera.
Eva was born on February 28, 1921 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. She attended Coronach and Tweedsmuir Schools. Eva moved to Waseca in the Spring of 1938 to work and in 1941 married Carl Sutherland. Eva drove the mail route from Waseca to Walters and Forest Bank Districts. They farmed in the Walters District and moved into Waseca in the late 1960's. Eva worked as a janitor at the Waseca School for several years. Eva moved to Tighnduin Home in Lashburn and then to Pine Island Lodge in Maidstone. Eva enjoyed visiting, playing cards and was an avid sports fan (hockey, curling and ball). She attended many games to watch her grandchildren play (she was a regular never missing a chance to go until the last few years).
Eva will be sadly missed by her children and their families: Grace (Lorne) of Red Deer, Alberta; Sandra of Waseca, Saskatchewan; Bruce (Sheila) of Gibsons, British Columbia; Kenneth (Carol) of Waseca, Saskatchewan and Keith (Debra) of Maidstone, Saskatchewan; daughter-in-law, Ruth, and son-in -law, Pat, both of Waseca, Saskatchewan as well as thirty-three grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Sabra Noble of Lloydminster, Alberta and numerous other relatives.
A family service will be held at a later date.
If friends so desire, donations in lieu flowers may be made to the Maidstone Heath Care Auxiliary, Maidstone, Saskatchewan.
