PARSONS ~ Helen Marion Parsons passed away at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the age of 95 years.
Helen was born on September 12, 1918 in Hanna, Alberta to Helen and Earl Ferster.
Helen leaves to mourn her passing: two daughters: Joy (Harvey) Hartel, Elaine (Ray) Peters; daughter-in-law: Ellen Parsons; eight grandchildren: Steve (Lisa) Parsons, Harold Hartel, Kim Hartel, David Finnen, Becky (Jason) Kafal, Chris (Jenn) Parsons, Deanna Pegg and Crystal Parsons; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Bob Parsons; son, Stan Parsons; and brother, Bud Ferster.
The Funeral Service for Helen was conducted from Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Paul DuVal officiating.
The eulogy was given by Helen's grandchildren.
The hymns sung were, "How Great Thou Art" and "God Will Take Care of You" accompanied by organist Irene Knowlson.
The solo was, "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" accompanied by The Grace United Church Choir.
The special CD music played was, "Sheltered In The Arms of God" sung by Joy Hartel and The New Life Singers.
The active pallbearers were Helen's grandchildren.
Interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan.
Donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Dr. Cooke Patient Comfort Fund, Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation Palliative Care or to a charity of the donor's choice.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.

The family of the late Helen M. Parsons would like to thank Dr. Snyman for your many years of dedicated care to Mom and to the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre staff for your wonderful care and support to our family.
We would also like to thank Reverend Paul DuVal for the service and Grace United Church Choir for the beautiful gift of music. Thank you to the Grandchildren for being the pallbearers and giving the eulogy, you each captured the very essence of Grandma with your memories.
To all of our dear friends and relatives that attended the service on such a bitterly cold day, Thank you. A heartfelt thanks to those who brought food to our homes, phone calls, emails, flowers, donations and visits. Thank you to Glenn McCaw and staff for your care and services, we appreciate it.
