What a lady! Beth will surely be missed. Our condolences to you all. Beth and Jake were my Godparents. They remembered me on every occasion. Some memorable gifts Beth sent to me as a child were books, music and charms. One book in particular was "Laurie and the Yellow House." We lived in a yellow house in Calgary at the time and I read it over and over again. Another that I really remember was a 45 rpm record of the "Unicorn" song. Beth put so much thought into the gifts she gave. But the most wonderful gift was her love. What a loving person. And so happy and fun to be around. She was a blessing in herself, and it was a blessing to be part of her life. The McDougall family were my cousins, whom we visited in summer and winter. When we visited in summer, we would also come to your farm, and see your mom in her massive, beautiful garden. She would have lemonade and cookies for us - either outside or in the welcome farmhouse kitchen. In the winter I remember snowmobiling together, and Beth would have hot chocolate for us to warm up. She was always interested in what I was doing and my family. In later years, I looked forward to reading her Christmas letter. I could hear her voice and her laugh as I read them. My mom, Thora, and Beth were good friends. They went through nursing together. Although mom may not be able to convey her condolences on her own, I would like to do that on her behalf, as I know how special Beth was to her. Eva, it was good to get to know you a bit in the past few years when we would see each other (typically at funeral, unfortunately). Beth was lucky to have you as a sister. Peace to you Roger, Bruce, Gary and Jim - and your families. You are Beth's family, and we all know she 'lovvvved' her boys! Love Laura Stewart (Laurie Burgess)
