Obituary of Douglas Nickless

BIOGRAPHY NICKLESS ~ Douglas Edgar Nickless passed away at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre in Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the age of 88 years. Douglas leaves to mourn: his loving wife: Claire Nickless; six children: Eugene Nickless, Grant Nickless, Barbara Nickless, Allen (Marilyn) Nickless, Miles (Debra) Nickless and Colleen Nickless (Alan Mackay); nine grandchildren: Adelle (Mac) Kelly, Aimee (Curt) Bimson , Amanda (Derek) Cusack, Andrew (Megan) Nickless, Matthew (Tamara) Nickless, Amanda Nickless (Conor Burns), Jason Nickless, Sarah Nickless and Grace Nickless; nine great grandchildren: Hannah, Holly and Conan Kelly, Mila and Kiera Bimson, Kade, Connor and Nash Cusack, and Cecilia Nickless. Douglas was predeceased by his first wife, Ellen Nickless, on December 25,1998. The Funeral Service for Douglas Nickless was conducted from Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Paul DuVal officiating. The eulogy was given by Grant Nickless. The hymns sung, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Bring in the Sheaves" were accompanied by organist Irene Knowlson and the Grace United Church Choir. The pallbearers were Andrew Nickless, Matthew Nickless, Jason Nickless, Mac Kelly, Derek Cusack and Calvin Nickless. Interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. Donations in memory of Douglas may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a Charity of the Donor's Choice. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
